A Dharma Rite is a Buddhist ritual prayer ceremony where a group of esoteric practitioners gathers together and prays for a common goal. A group of practitioners who have experience working together with advanced states of consciousness can overcome an obstacle with relative ease that would be insurmountable for one person alone. I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend time under the direction and guidance of my enlightened Guru, Living Buddha Dechan Jueren. As an awakened being, my Master was able to see the reality of the abortion situation, unlike just about everyone who has to base opinion on belief systems or moral view.

I remember one time when a woman came into the temple to receive spiritual healing for a debilitating neck problem, Master Yu told her that she had a baby ghost wrapped around her neck. Other times, people came to ask for help with their problems, and Master told some of them that the cause of their woes was an abortion.

Getting the information ready for the temple was the first step which allowed me to start thinking back and reflecting on these situations, my role and responsibility in creating them. To be honest, I was a bit nervous before the rite begun and I felt as I was going to deal with something big, yet I felt it was going to be alright.
Because of time differences—it was 4:00 AM when the rite was performed—I had no telephone nor internet access to join the ceremony from where I was staying that week.

There are many opinions and points of view on the abortion issue. I remember when I was younger, having the opinion that whatever happens to a woman’s body is her business, and abortion should be up to her. Her body, her business. Pro-Choice.
